Why Compact SUVs Need Better Safety?

Driving in a bustling city like Mumbai or Jakarta is no joke. Think about it: honking cars, darting pedestrians, and those sneaky two-wheelers weaving through traffic. Compact SUVs, like the Suzuki Fronx, are a favorite for their size and versatility, but many lack the technology to make driving safer. In places like India and Indonesia, where roads can feel like a free-for-all, missing out on features like automatic braking or lane assist can make every trip a bit nerve-wracking. Drivers want affordable SUVs that pack modern safety systems, but too many models skimp on these.

The Suzuki Fronx, launched in India in 2023, is a sporty, practical crossover that’s won hearts. But here’s the catch: the Indian version doesn’t have advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Meanwhile, Indonesia just got a souped-up Fronx with Level 2 ADAS. So, will India catch up? Let’s dive in.

The Stress of Driving Without ADAS

Suppose you are stuck in peak hour traffic and a slight distraction is leading to a minor collision. When there are features like blind spot alerts or emergency braking then they can save the day,but without them you have to manage on your own risk.

In Indonesia, the Fronx now has Level 2 ADAS, making driving smoother and safer. Indian drivers, though, are left without these perks, and it stings especially when rivals like Hyundai’s Venue or Kia’s Sonet are rolling out ADAS in similar price ranges.

Indian car buyers have become wiser and smarter than before. There is no sole emphasis regarding the mileage or looks only but safety is a big priority. Without ADAS, the Fronx risks losing its edge.

There was a news regarding a test model spotted in India with ADAS sensors but unless it is officially confirmed from the Suzuki’s end we can just guess only if the Indian drivers can get the same safety excellence.
